Charis Children’s Services is committed to providing the highest level of care for children and young people, which includes ensuring our staff are equipped with advanced training and skills. An essential part of our professional development is the Level 4 Trauma-Informed Practice training offered to our team, a course specifically designed for those working directly with children in care settings.
This NCFE-accredited Level 4 award allows our staff to become certified Trauma-Informed Practitioners. The course focuses on understanding the deep impact of childhood trauma, particularly in cases of abuse and neglect, which often lead to complex and challenging behaviors. Through this training, staff members learn essential tools and strategies to support children effectively, integrating therapeutic parenting and trauma-informed principles into their daily interactions. This approach builds a foundation of safety, trust, and belonging that is crucial for children’s healing and long-term success.
Our training pathway includes a comprehensive induction and core training program for all new staff. Team members without a Residential Child Care Diploma are supported to complete a Level 3 diploma, while those interested in management roles can pursue a Level 5 qualification. Upon completion of these, staff are encouraged to advance to the Level 4 Trauma-Informed Practice training, ensuring a consistently high level of care across our organization.
By investing in trauma-informed training, Charis Children’s Services is building a workforce capable of delivering compassionate, effective support to children and young people. We are proud of the dedication our team members show in furthering their skills and look forward to seeing the positive outcomes this training will bring to our services and, most importantly, to the lives of the children in our care.
